Since the campaign began, the group has been hard at work, trying to get the plans made into action. We have changed the name of the campaign group to the Every Life Matters campaign, but the campaign is still in memory of chris.
We have recently commisioned Oldham Theatre Workshop to write us a piece of drama as part of our campaign. We will take the piece into 12 different schools around the borough and a workshop will be ran after each school has seen the drama.
We have had several meetings with sarah, the writer at theatre workshop. At the first meeting, we told her the background of the campaign, and threw around ideas about what the drama would include, and how it should look. Sarah then went away to write 3 different pieces of drama that we could read through and give her feedback on.
At are most recent meeting with theatre workshop, sarah brought us her 3 ideas, and after we read through them, we asked her whether she could merge the first two pieces, but also bring in a bit from the third! she was so great that we just couldnt choose!
We have also organized another meeting with her to view her next draft of the script, and if we are happy, finalize it.
Alongside working on the drama piece, the Every Life Matters Campaign has also been looking at the different types of merchandise we want to raise the profile of the campaign, and raise the awareness of road safety.
We held a meeting with just the campaign group, and decided that the merchandise we wanted was:
-banner pens
- car stickers
- wristbands
-fluffy bugs holding a slow down sign
-keyrings ( half car shaped and half heart shaped)
We then organized a meeting with a merchandise company, who came and told us how long it would take to make what we wanted, how much it would cost, what they would look like, and so on.
Then Charlotte and Chantel created the final designs of the different pieces of merchandise to send off to the company and get the ball rolling.
This is as far as the campaign is at the moment, as we are waiting for conformation from the merchandising company and waiting for the next draft of the drama piece to be created. However, in the near future we plan to have a meeting with a designer to help us create our posters and warning cards, that can then be sent off for publishing when complete!
Will write again when there is more updates!
